I think the last vestige of the old LGF fell away today. Charles Johnson has come out against torture. And he has not only come out against torture, he has admitted that he was wrong in the past.
And that, perhaps, is the bigger story. The Lizard Tyrant, Charles Johnson, has finally admitted humility and error on one of the TRUE CORE concepts of the old LGF. Not piddly stuff as to whether Barack Obama or George W. Bush would make a better President, where Charles has in the past admitted error. Not major stuff like global warming, where Charles' previous alleged position as a skeptic was weak. Not major stuff like Charles' turning away from the Pam Geller/Gates of Vienna/Robert Spencer nutters, where he has been busy purging his archives of evidence of his past gullibility/mendacity.
This is both a BIG turnaround, and a MAJOR admission of past error by Charles. I salute him.
And with that salute, I will truly say "adieu" to LGF Banned and Blocked. It will remain on the web in all its tawdriness, along with the now long-forgotten "Nodrog's Greatest Hits" blog. But it is a finished work. After a decent interval comments, assuming anyone wants to actually make any, will be permanently closed.

Eh, CJ is still CJ. His positions have changed, great, but he's still his egomaniacal self. He's doing this in the context of this most recent battle with Wikipedia over the memory hole thing. I suspected they might have been related, and CJ even addressed it when it was brought up in the thread you refer to.
But they've assembled a lizard team to "rewrite" the wiki entry for LGF. It's hard to think that this isn't put up for padding.
Anyway, I hope to see you around, and I'm sure that this site will be referenced for some time to come.

Well your last post is damn shame. Nodrog do you really believe CJ has come to his 'senses?' Seriously, the man lost all sense of reality a long, long time ago. If a Republican or a conservative said the sky is blue, Chuckles would say its green. If they say the sun rises in the east the Jazz Man would say no, it rises in west. The man is the Charlie Crist of blogosphere. But I understand if you want end the blog, it takes a lot of time and effort point out the outright hypocrisy that is Charles Johnson.
Can anyone even believe it? With his deleting of threads down the memory hole, I find this non-credible.
Sorry to disappoint anyone. Yes, Charles is not to be trusted. And the memory hole phenomenon is pretty disgusting, but the fabulous ChenZhen has that story angle pretty well covered. My work is done. And, despite the many other sins that Charles J. is guilty of, his admission that he was completely wrong about the torture inflicted on prisoners by the U.S. military and intelligence communities over the past seven years is very admirable and salutable.
I think you're right Gordon. The war is won. The poison from LGF has not gone, but it is now dispersed across other sites and can be ignored. CJ has not changed, he's merely changed his targets. He's still a simplistic obsessive moron, but he now froths and smears his former friends. They are largely irrelevant, and so is he.
For my money Pammy is a far more dangerous creature at this time.
Congratulations on the blogs Gordon. I think they should stay up as a sort of monument. It's been a lot of fun.

Those of us in Europe that are old enough to remember children being gunned down by Serb snipers in Sarajevo have a problem with revisionists like Pamela Geller and your very own Rodan who spread the lie that it was all a noble fight against Al Qaeda.... So Yes Pammy is no less disgusting than any holocaust denier and is dangerous due to her public profile and the stupidity of her audience.
So when is CJ going to step up and confess that he's always been an idiot?
